I heard this weird song on a college radio station a few weeks ago. It wasn't really a song so much as something like an old folk tale to a tune.
The story was about a man who went out hunting swans. He came across his lover, who had her white dress gathered up around her. He mistook her for a swan (a huge one, I guess) and shot her. When he told his uncle about what he did, expecting to be convicted of murder, he told him not to worry, "for there is no crime in shooting a swan."
THUSFORTH* this drawing was born. It's the first drawing I've made in this really, really nice handbound leather book with watercolor paper inside I bought at the Bayou City Art Festival from a crazy hippy from Austin. I love that book. I think I want to put more fairytale-inspired illustrations in it, just because they're a lot of fun to do. Also, the book smells really, REALLY GOOD. Cows don't smell nice until you tan their hides. Then it's like...the smell I want to smell for the rest of eternity in heaven.
l: anyway. I drew it weeks ago but I was feeling doodly today so I finished it up.

Oh my fucking lord, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. The image and context is just surreal. Your lines are beautiful, as always, and I love the little bits of color.
The detail on her gown, and the swan's feathers is beautiful. I am so thrown by this, its AMAZINGG!! Is there any chance I could cajole you into sending me an extremely high res copy so I can make a print of this?? I really really want to put it up in my bedroom, it would go so lovely there.
Really? That's...awesome, I'm flattered. That would be no problem. I'll note a high res version of it to you in a bit. I'm really glad you like it. Thanks a lot bebe <3
